Local HCV Landlord RENTCafé
The Landlord RENTCafé provides property owners with an up-to-date subsidy payment history, including abatement status, inspection schedules and results, as well as tenant and unit information. Enrollment in the Portal is open to all property owners with HHA Section 8 assisted tenants.
What is RENTCafé?
RENTCafé is an online tool that allows Housing Choice Voucher (HCV, formerly Section 8) property owners to review their information and that of their tenants, without having to make unnecessary calls or visits to the office of the Helena Housing Authority.
INFORMATION YOU NEED PRIOR TO REGISTERING
• Know your codes. The Registration Code consists of 11208-L along with your vendor code and will be used to register in the Landlord RENTCafé. Your Vendor Code is located at the top left corner of HHA check stubs on the PAYEE line. Section 8 vendor codes begin with the letter “l or v” followed by seven numbers.
• You are also required to use the current email address you have provided to your HCV Specialist. This is so that, if you forget your username or password, we can send updated login information to you. If you need to update or change the email address on file, please contact your HCV Specialist.
Who can register?
Only Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) property owners already registered with the HHA Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program can create new accounts. Note that a Registration Code (11208-L along with your vendor code) is required to register.
How do I register/create a new account?
To register/create a new account click here. Once registered, log in and fill in the form with your contact information, making sure that all required fields marked with asterisks are completed. You must verify that "you are not a robot" by CAPTHA picture verification. Select all the images required and select "verify". Submit your request by clicking on the "Submit" button.
How is Landlord Portal useful to me as a property owner?
As a registered property owner, you will be able to review your profile, your tenant's information, status of inspections and re-inspections, and your HAP payments by resident. If you have not received the monthly statement showing rents paid for each tenant, please call or email your HCV Specialist.
I forgot my password. How can I recover it?
Click on the “Forgot Password?” link on the login page and follow the instructions. A new password will be sent to the email you used to register. You can change your password by following the same steps.
I know my password, but still cannot log in. What can I do?
Your user account has most likely been locked out as a result of too many unsuccessful login attempts. Please contact us by email (email@example.com) so your account can be unlocked. Passwords are case sensitive. Make sure you log in with the correct password and Caps Lock is not locked.
